Food was great, drinks (I was shocked, but I had high hopes).
Worse Old Fashioned I ever had too...
quarter of an orange, a cherry and a heck of a lot of club soda.
Club soda? I was tempted to teach the bartender how to make one, but did not want to be a jerk. Stuck with G&T's or Martinis after that, although your RIckards Red was pretty tasty too. Chien is on my radar now...

I'm glad you liked the drink! Yeah, Montreal is not very steeped in cocktail culture and so it takes a little sniffing around to find out where to go. Chien Fumant is awesome, as is Big in Japan (the speakeasy, not the resto of the same name) and LAB.

Tried it tonight, and it was very good, actually it was the first cocktail I tried with my new bottle of Luxardo. Only had some Key Limes on hand, which are wicked tart, so I had to add a splash of simple syrup to offset them, with Persian Limes I am sure it would be fine without the syrup.

Actually I just got back from Montreal and was clearly in the wrong places looking for some lively cocktail culture. Just added Le Chien Fumant to a place to visit on my next visit.
cheers.
