Though the original recipe calls for Lillet Blanc, the Lillet Blanc sold today is a bit different than that the original recipe’s author would have had. A more accurate representation is Cocchi Americano which still has the bitter-sour quinine bite that was characteristic of old-fashioned Lillet and goes oh so well with gin.

Sounds like a great tipple, could this even date back further or be a variation of a cocktail that came about from British colonial days in India. It seems the mix of Lemon and Gin to have been a popular drink from that era but where ever it came from I can’t wait to give it a try, thanks I will enjoy.
